World Food Day 2023 Celebrated Under the WSSEAP Project: “Water is Life, Water is Food. No One Will Be Left Behind.”
On Monday, the 16th of October 2023, World Food Day was celebrated under the WSSEAP project, bearing the theme “Water is life, water is food. No one will be left behind.” This event was funded by the Japan Fund for Global Environment (JFGE) and organized by the Prattasha Samazik Unnayan Sangstha (PSUS). The esteemed presence of Agriculture Extension Officer Abhijit Kumar Biswas from Damurhuda, Chuadanga, as the chief guest, marked the significance of the occasion. In his speech, he emphasized the collective responsibility of ensuring food security for our future generations.
The event also witnessed the attendance of notable figures such as Upazila Apex Committee General Secretary Abdur Razzak, Upazila Apex Committee Member Mosa Hasina Khatun, Juranpur Union Committee President Golam Mostafa, Natipota Union Committee Publicity Secretary Likhan Ali, and Old Hauli Village Committee General Secretary Khalilur Rahman, who graced the event as special guests. Mr. Golam Mallick, the President of the Damurhuda Union Committee, presided over the proceedings. The event welcomed farmers from Damurhuda, Howli, Judanpur, and Natipota Unions.
The organization’s program manager, Md. Yunus Ali, delivered a welcoming speech, and the program was skillfully presented by Arifur Rahman, a field volunteer of the WASEP project. Union Facilitator Md. Sohail Rana and Mahibul Habib, alongside Field Volunteer Md. Manzoor Elahi, provided comprehensive support throughout the program.
